"Death is not waiting for us at the end of a long road. Death is always with us, in the marrow of every passing moment. She is the secret teacher hiding in plain sight" - Frank Ostaseski, author of "The Five Invitations"
After hosting "Meditations on Death" at the Sydney Festival of Death and Dying in 2017, among many other venues, Asher continues to present this intimate workshop at The Fifth Direction.
He is now joined by Stephan Skov, acclaimed singer/songwriter and head music therapist at the Peter Mac Cancer Centre. Stephan brings remarkable wisdom to the topic of death having been present with many people at the end stage of their lives. He will discuss the importance of music as a part of this journey, as well as accompany the meditations with a live acoustic performance.
Asher and Stephan understand that a full life involves a much closer relationship with death than many of us currently have. Drawing on their own experiences, as well as lessons from historical and mythological influences, they will guide workshop participants through a powerful death-bed meditation as well as discuss the benefits and underlying philosophy of such a practice.
Date: Friday, July 13, 2018
Place: The Fifth Direction, Albert Park
Investment: $45 plus booking
This workshop will also be hosted at the Australian Meditation Conference on Saturday, July 21, 2018.
