Meditations on Death

After hosting his "Meditations on Death" workshop at the Sydney Festival of Death and Dying, at A-SPACE studio and mPavilion in 2017, David will be presenting it once again, this time hosted in an intimate setting for just a dozen people at The Fifth Direction in Albert Park.

Contemplating death and dying is a core principle in meditative practice and David understands a full life involves a much closer relationship with death than many of us currently have. Drawing on his own experiences, as well as lessons from historical influences such as the Stoics, the Samurai and the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of conscious dying, David will guide workshop participants through a powerful death-bed meditation as well as discuss the concepts and underlying philosophy of such a practice. The workshop will also include a series of related exercises which focus on the pivot point where life is given and taken away – the breath.
